My wife, daughter and I did a 4 day trip on the boat Jacaré – Tinga and it was a spectacular. We were up early to watch the sunrise and had activities all day long. We thought 4 days would be too short but we came away feeling very satisfied that we had seen what we needed to.

The staff was great and the “skiff” rides into all the tributaries both during the day and night were incredible. A lot of this was because we had Kenrick as our guide. He has more than 10 years as a guide in the area and also teaches survival tactics for the jungle. Having his vast knowledge, ability to spot sloth and monkeys from incredible distances and catch caiman at night with his bare hands for us to hold, on top of his knowledge of all the “short cuts” through the forest in the boats made the trip extra special.

There was so much to see and do in a place like no other. Kenrick had plans and the logistics from a lifetime of experience.  Soon, we were swimming with dolphins, feeding giant Caiman, and boating through the flooded forest at night, with lightning and thunder in the distance. Many experiences were realized, and some I had not even considered. I’ll be back down there to fish, boat, and hopefully visit the Yanomami. Of course, a favorite pastime is hanging out with my friend and guide, Kenrick!!

I only wished we planned our entire Amazon and Manaus experience with him. He is truly a master guide and expertly skilled and knowledgeable of the area.

From identifying a variety of species of wildlife, and fauna to knowing almost everyone we would meet in the Amazon river community, he was an important source of information and fun! I loved learning about the indigenous uses of the trees and plants and he was able to bring a spiritual connection to the Amazon with an amazing visit and blessing at a local native community our last day in Amazonas.

Wow!!!! That is all I can say about my first and definitely not last Amazon Adventure with Kendrick! Amazon Extreme Tours gave me everything I imagined when I decided to go to the Amazon! We started off by piranha fishing where we caught multiple types of them back-to-back. We then moved on to bigger fish where we started catching all different sizes of peacock bass! Who doesn’t want to catch a peacock bass on the Amazon?? After that, I got the opportunity to catch a freshwater sting ray on a handline! Kendrick was able to net some crocs and huge fish for great pictures as well!

The next portion he took me to hike through the jungle where we saw rare birds and amazing old caves with bats everywhere inside of them. We then moved on to 3 waterfall trips where we were able to play in the waterfalls as much as you like. When we got back, we got to go nighttime caiman spotting!

When we got to Manaus, they gave me a private boat to go see the meeting of the waters which you obviously have to do!! It is truly amazing! Next, we went to meet indigenous tribes and were able to get private showings of some of their rituals and dances. We were also given the chance to take photos with sloths, anacondas, caimans, and birds of all types. Finally, we got to fish for arapaima which they have a lot of by the local’s floating houses.

Amazon Extreme Tours went above and beyond in all phases of the trip making me feel safe and secure while having the time of my life. Even while in the city, they made sure I made it to the hotels and restaurants without harm. The markets, shops, and restaurants are a must in Manaus and they will walk you through them and ensure you see all the exciting stops!
